  1. Hi folks, right now Ottawa is under siege by 10,000 protesters, supporting the semi-truck convoy which crossed Canada this week to protest the requirement to have a vaccine passport to cross the border. There is a small percentage of truckers who are anti vax. 85% are vaxxed. But the anti’s are numerous enough, they are making a lot of noise. The ridiculous thing is, even if Trudeau waived the requirement (which he wont), the US requires a vaccination record at the border anyway. Sadly, the usual fringe lunatics and extremists have hopped on board, issuing threats to topple the government, a la January 16, 2021, and run it themselves. Whoever concocted this toxic trumpish kool-aid, it is potent and a lot of people are eager to swallow it. In front of my place this morning, a line of pickups with huge Canadian flags hanging off the back, passed by en route to Ukee. The Freedom Convoy. Sigh. Trudeau has been taken to a secret location as there have been threats, and MLA’s and warned to stay home and lock their doors. Of course the conservatives, our version of republicans, have hopped on the band wagon, hoping to get elected if the government falls. Really, I never dreamed this would happen in Canada – or the US either, for that matter. My rose-coloured glasses came off in a big way in 2016.

    • OMG, Sherry! And when we put it all in perspective, we realize it took decades for the crazy anti democracy people to plan to take over the world. Thankfully, I don’t believe they planned the pandemic. But all causes can be bent to their purpose. It’s unsafe. Surround yourself with love, my friend.

  2. I just finished a poem that I brought here because it is another answer to last week’s prompt. I posted one in my comment over there–it was an hour late! And now, I’m tired, so I’ll read these poems during the week. Thank you all for being here!
